The Dance
It is said that Kete was originally performed by ‘mmoatia’, superhuman creatures. It is traditionally played in the royal courts of the Akan for the Chiefs. It is also heard at state occasions, durbars, state funerals, national festivals and enstoolment and outdooring of new chiefs.
